The beautiful city of Luang Prabang is the ancient capital of the Lan Xang Kingdom. Luang Prabang has seen many name changes in its lifetime. In the 8th century it was called Muang Swa after King Khun Xua. Later this changed to Xieng Dong and Xieng Thong.
